Cici Ling is an assistant professor at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington. Her research spans security, privacy, psychology, and computational social science, with a particular focus on social media and niche communities, aiming to promote accessibility and inclusivity in digital applications. Her work has been published in top-tier journals and conferences, including IEEE S&P, USENIX, ACM CSCW, and AAAI ICWSM, and has been featured in Wired, New Scientist, and The Washington Post.
Cici is the recipient of the 2023 EECS Rising Star award, the 2022 Meta PhD Fellowship in Security and Privacy, and a Hariri Student Fellowship at Boston University. She was also a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute, supported by a fellowship.
