Jonathan Ponniah received a Bachelor and Masters of Applied Science and Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2006 and 2008 respectively, and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013, all in Electrical and Computer Engineering. From 2013-2017 he was a post-doctoral scholar affiliated with the NSF Center for Science of Information at Texas A&M University. From 2017-2023 he was an assistant professor at San Jose State University in the electrical engineering department.
