Raj Acharya, dean of the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, announced promotions for five faculty members in early April.
“Our faculty are the backbone of our school, and their dedication to their students and their research has allowed SICE to build a deserved reputation as a leader in technology,” Acharya said. “I congratulate the SICE faculty members on their promotions, and I wish them continued success in their endeavors.”
Associate Professor of Computer Science Jeremy Siek and Associate Professor of Informatics Cassidy Sugimoto will be promoted to professor. Three assistant professors of computer science, Chung-Chieh Shan, Sam Tobin-Hochstadt, and Qin Zhang, will be promoted to associate professors of computer science.
Bo Peng, who serves as a research assistant in the Department of Intelligent Systems Engineering, also earned a promotion in rank.
The promotions will become effective July 1.
