This course introduces the concepts of how organizations and institutions can connect with their audiences. In an increasingly experience-driven economy, the ability to create meaningful, engaging, and memorable visitor interactions is critical for attracting, retaining, and educating audiences. With the rise of digital and hybrid experiences, it is essential to design interactions that can attract a wide variety of visitors, creating emotional connections, enhancing learning, and leaving lasting impressions. The students will learn the skills and methodologies needed to design impactful visitor experiences across a variety of settings, including museums, theme parks, cultural sites, public spaces, urban environments, retail/commercial spaces, events, and festivals. Through a combination of human-centered design principles, models of visitor interaction, and user research methodologies, students will learn how to design with empathy, ensuring that experiences meet the needs and expectations of diverse visitor groups.
