  • Recommended minimum 3.0 GPA
  • The application is open to all majors, as long as the participant is enthusiastic about technology and service. Preference may be given to admitted Luddy students.
  • There is no foreign language requirement. You must have or be able to acquire a passport before the visa deadline.
  • Students must have or be able to acquire the Yellow Fever vaccine and supporting documents before the visa deadline. Student Health services can administer required vaccines and prescribe required preventative care.
  • You must be able to submit a travel visa to the embassy of Ghana. Assistance will be provided at orientation.

  • *Ghana Tech Trek Program Fee: $3500
    • Charged to bursar.
    • Includes some meals, housing, transportation, visa and immigration fees.
    • Personal groceries / meals will cost approximately $300 paid out of pocket.
    • Cost of required vaccines and preventative care is paid out of pocket and may be partially covered by health insurance.
  • Luddy Study Abroad Scholarship
  • IU scholarships, grants and loans applicable to program costs with some exceptions.

  • Housing arranged by program coordinators.
  • Transportation within Ghana arranged by program coordinators.
  • Flights are arranged by program coordinators.
    • Typically students depart from Indianapolis International Airport (IND), and return at the end of the trip.
    • Accommodations for alternate departure or return destinations may be possible but should be communicated with the program coordinators as early as possible.
