Ghana is a vibrant and diverse West African country with a lot to offer. The Luddy Ghana Tech Trek is a three week service-learning trip sponsored by the Luddy school. Participants will experience the vibrant life in the cities of Accra and Kumasi, eating authentic Ghanaian food and learning to negotiate a deal at the largest markets in Africa. Participants will spend time on the beautiful beaches of Cape Coast, and confront intimately historical sites concerning the tragic exploitation of Ghanaians by colonial powers.
Participants will work with a local non-profit to educate students in computer literacy and basic coding skills. This service-learning trip will involve travelling between urban schools, where students often have some experience with computing, and to rural schools where students often have no experience with computing.
