The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes an alumnus/a who is making, or has made, an outstanding contribution to the fields of computer science, informatics, and/or engineering either through their career, philanthropy, or volunteering.
Eligibility
All nominations will remain in effect for the next three award cycles, after which time they may be resubmitted.
If, in the opinion of either the Selection Committee or the Luddy Alumni Board, no worthy candidate is nominated in a given year, the award will not be presented that year.
Nominations
For the purpose of judging nominations, an outstanding contribution should include evidence of one or more of the following:
- Exceptional skills in their respective fields
- Noteworthy contributions in computer science, informatics, and/or engineering to society at large
- Significant influence on the candidate’s place of employment, community, and profession
All nominations must include at least one letter of support from an individual (someone other than the nominator) who is familiar with the work of the nominee and can acknowledge at least one of the aforementioned criteria. When filling out the form, please include the name and contact info for this person. The letter(s) of support need to be submitted by July 1, 2022, and can be sent to luddydev@iu.edu.
