Biography
Maryam Heidaripour is a design researcher specializing in feminist futures and participatory approaches to inform the development of emerging technologies. During her work for the energy industry, she participated in conceptualizing and planning smart city projects for sustainable and resilient communities. She has also participated in developing design guidelines for cutting-edge technologies, among them are autonomous vehicles, digital fabrication, and advanced manufacturing. Over the years, Heidaripour has worked for nonprofit organizations across three continents, including a year-long project for socio-economic empowerment of disadvantaged women in Iran and Kenya. Her motivation is to support people and organizations in the process of imagining and crafting futures in which we can all thrive.
