Scholarships for Luddy students
Undergraduate direct admission scholarships
Scholarships are offered for incoming freshmen who have received direct admission to our school. Automatic direct admits are invited to complete the Selective Scholarship Application (SSA), which is used to determine which Luddy direct-admit scholarships they receive. These awards are renewable beyond your freshman year. You may apply for additional Luddy scholarships each spring semester.

Cecil “Corky” Richmond Jr. Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 to $2,500

Direct Admit Scholarship

FIRST® Robotics Scholarship

Hudson and Holland Scholars Program Matching Scholarship

Preference or special considerations: Hudson and Holland Scholars who are also directly admitted to our school will receive this matching scholarship from Luddy.
John R. Gibbs Scholarship for Innovation
Amount: $2,000

Preference or special consideration: For students who are automatic direct admits to Luddy. Preference is given to students demonstrating or expressing interest in innovation and entrepreneurship. When all other qualities are equal, preference is given to Indiana residents and students with financial need.
Luddy Scholars Program

Preference or special considerations: Eligible high school students who have applied by November 1 and been offered direct admission will be invited to apply. Finalists will be invited to campus for an interview weekend held during the spring semester.
Project Lead The WAY (PLTW) Scholarship

Class standing: Incoming freshmen; renewable
Preference or special considerations: For students who are directly admitted to Luddy and who enrolled in Project Lead the Way programs during high school. They must meet additional requirements, too.
Telamon Diversity Scholarship

Preference or special considerations: For students who are automatic direct admits to Luddy. Special consideration is given to underrepresented populations, including financially challenged students, underrepresented genders, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences.
Current undergraduate scholarships
Unless otherwise noted, you can apply for all these scholarships through one application. The scholarship application for the 2021/22 academic year will be availbable in March, we’ll post the link here and email it to certified Luddy students. The faculty on the Scholarship Selection Committee will review the applications and will email recipients in June.

Krane Scholar Award Project Support

Preference or special consideration: This award supports student projects that use and/or combine journalism/media and/or information technology–based concepts, including but not limited to projects, research, travel, materials, and conference attendance.
The Krane Scholar Award alternates between Luddy and The Media School and encourages collaboration between the disciplines. In even years it is awarded to a Luddy student; in odd years, to a Media School student. Melanie and Dennis Groth Scholarship

Preference or special considerations: The scholarship requires a demonstrated history of commitment to community. Salesforce–Accelerator Scholarship

The Shoemaker Scholars are a group of 10 students from across academic programs at IU Bloomington selected for their entrepreneurial ambition. They host activities to enhance knowledge of and experience with innovation and entrepreneurship at IU.
Study Abroad Scholarship
Amount: $250 to $1,000
Majors: All Luddy majors
GPA: Minimum 3.2 recommended
Class standing: Undergraduates who have certified into Luddy
Preference or special considerations: This award requires a separate application that is available year-round. Even if you don’t meet the criteria, still apply—sometimes we make exceptions.
