The Computer Science program at the School of Informatics and Computing is pleased to welcome Prof. Veljko M. Milutinovic of the University of Belgrade as a visiting teacher for the CSCI-B 649 Topics of Systems course May 11-12.
Students in Milutinovic’s class will have access to the Maxeler dataflow machine of the Math Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MISANU) as part of their course and their research. The dataflow machine is the largest of its kind in the academic environment of continental Europe, and it’s larger than any Maxeler dataflow machine used for education in academic environments in the United States.
Students attending Prof. Milutinovic’s lectures are welcome to use the machine free of charge courtesy of the MISANU. U.S. News and World Report rated the math program at the University of Belgrade No. 87 in the world and in the top 20 in Continental Europe. The respectable Times Higher Education also ranked Serbian education, including math and computing, as the top in the world in terms of quality by GNP.
The CSCI-B 649 course runs from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, and the class is only open to graduates.
